Early Morning 3B: How Do You View the Role of Multinational Pharmaceutical Companies in Access to and Rationale Use of Medicines?
The Access to Medicine Index is a unique initiative that, every two-years, undertakes an independent measurement of the Pharmaceutical Industry's role in addressing access to medicines in low and middle income countries. The framework through which the assessment takes place is defined in consultation and dialogue with multiple stakeholder groups with an interest in the issue and aims to incentivise better ‘access’ performance by the industry.
Ahead of the forthcoming release of the Index 2012 methodology we would like to invite you to join us for a breakfast discussion. We hope to introduce you to the initiative and gain your feedback on its development.

Do the domains measured reflect your expectations of the Industry? Are there emerging 'access' issues in your country related to the private sector? Can civil society contribute to overcoming the challenges of measuring 'on the ground' activities of companies? Does the Industry have a role in facilitating optimal/rational patient use of medicines?
